Coronation Street Spoilers: Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) confirms TWO people will die in the Rovers Return fire!

In the build-up to the much-anticipated Coronation Street fire which burns the iconic pub, The Rovers Return, to the ground next week, one of its main stars has revealed that we can expect to see two casualties as a result of it.

Fans of the award-winning ITV soap will know how producers are burning down the current pub set in order to create a new one for its new home when the studio moves from its current Granada location to MediaCityUK in Salford Quays next year.

Right from the start bosses revealed that there would be at least one death, confirmed to be Shobna Gulati who plays Sunita Alahan, but speculation spread widely that there was possibly two other deaths we could expect.

We reported earlier this month that Tony Hirst who plays fireman Paul Kershaw had been axed from the iconic soap and, given his profession, it seemed like a pretty safe bet that he was one of them, leaving a question mark hanging over whether there would be any more fatalities and, if so, who would they be?

These questions appear to have been answered by Michelle Keegan who plays Tina McIntyre who confirmed to ITV daytime chat show This Morning yesterday that there will in fact only be TWO deaths – Sunita and A N Other (who we strongly suspect is Paul).

Speaking on the show Michelle, whose character is currently pregnant as a surrogate for friends Izzy (Cherylee Houston) and Gary (Mikey North), explained about the fire which we will see on our TV screens next week:

“We do lose two people in the fire,

“But I’m not going to say anything more, because I will open my mouth…”

Others who could be in the firing line are pub landlady Stella Price (Michelle Collins) who is trapped in the pub when it goes up, and her ex Karl Munroe (John Mitchie) who braves the flames to try and rescue her.

However, as we reported earlier this month, new executive producer Stuart Blackburn had previously hinted that Stella was to survive the inferno after he commented in a recent interview: “The story at the moment is that Stella is the landlady, and when the pubs burnt down, we’ll see her battle to get it back to where it was.”

Fortunately for Michelle Keegan, her character won’t be caught up in the fire given her current condition, of which the actress commented:

“I love the bump, especially in this weather! I’m gonna be sad when it goes.”

Michelle, who is currently dating former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright, went on to say how after being nominated for sexiest female at the British Soap Awards for the fifth year in a row (the previous four she has won) she is finally accepting her beauty, explaining:

“I do think it’s an age thing – this time three years ago I was not comfortable at all, I was constantly covering up,

“I think I’m now more grown up and I just think ‘live your life’. As long as you’re happy that’s all that matters.”
