Fans of Corrie will of course know that David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) recently suffered another epileptic fit, and though they are few and far between thanks to his medications, next week, we’ll see he’s worried that his baby may have inherited the disease from him…

And as we’ll see on Monday, May 13, a concerned David tells his wife Kylie (Paula Lane) that he thinks they should have the baby genetically screened, which of course, given that David may not be the baby’s dad – his brother Nick may be – Kylie panics.

She and Nick (Ben Price) then try to talk David out of it, however, he remains sure that the child should be screened, until that is he talks to midwife Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) about his fears…

Marcus explains to David that there is no test that can be carried out to see if the baby will have epilepsy, however he goes on to say that it’s extremely unlikely that the infant would inherit the illness anyway.

Later, when David tells Nick and Kylie what Marcus said, they’re relieved when he adds that there’s no point pursuing genetic screening, and both heave a sigh of relief…

So once again, Nick and Kylie have dodged a bullet, but how long can they keep doing so?

Here’s a look at what’s ahead this week…
