Coronation Street bosses have hinted that a second Corrie resident will die in the forthcoming inferno that will claim the life of Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) when the Rovers burns to the ground…

The question is, who will it be?

On the show’s official website, the soap’s bosses teased, “You may have read reports that the Rovers fire will claim lives.

“We can now exclusively reveal that more than one person could die in the blaze, which will take hold of the Rovers next month…

“Will landlady Stella fall victim to the fire? Could it be barmaid Tina? Fireman Paul? Bad guy Karl? Sunita? Gloria? Eva? Toyboy Jason?

“No one is safe from the killer flames…”

The show’s cast and crew have been filming the fire scenes during night shoots this week with director Tony Prescott overseeing the dramatic blaze storyline alongside special effects expert, Danny Hargreaves.

As we reported recently, the iconic pub will be rebuilt and will be “bigger and better” than ever before, and possibly with a new landlady – currently tipped to be Michelle Connor, who’s played by Kym Lomas – at the helm…

Which of course prompts us to wonder if Stella Price (Michelle Collins) is going to be the other Corrie character who’ll perish in the flames?

It’s also been reported that many of the Street’s residents will believe that Sunita started the fire deliberately, however, as John Michie’s character Karl Munro – who was of course formerly Stella’s boyfriend – is set to become “sinister” as he tries to win Stella back, I would imagine he too will be high on the list of suspects in the arson whodunit.

We will of course keep you posted on any further news about the fire plotline, but for now, here’s a look at tomorrow night’s visit to the Street, where there’s a distinct lack of heat in one household…
