Fans of Corrie will of course know that in an upcoming storyline, Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) is set to die having become trapped in The Rovers when a fire breaks out…
And when firefighters determine that the blaze was started deliberately, many of the Street’s residents will be convinced that Sunita was the arsonist, however, as it’s been reported of late that Karl Munro (John Michie) is set to become sinister when his former lover Stella Price shuns him yet again, he is of course also going to be a prime suspect.
We reported yesterday that the cast and crew of the soap have been filming the blaze scenes in a series of late night shoots, and in today’s Daily Star, the paper has snippets of the cast’s scripts which could indicate that Stella might die in the fire too…
You may recall that earlier this week, the soap’s producers teased that a second Corrie resident would perish in the flames along with Sunita.
But on now with what the Star has to say of the drama, and it reports that Stella (Michelle Collins) will be trapped upstairs at the pub when the fire takes hold, and local fireman Paul Kershaw (Tony Hirst) is set to try to bring her out of the inferno after her boyfriend Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) bravely tries to save his lover.
During filming, Jane Danson, who plays the role of Stella’s daughter Leanne Tilsley, was heard screaming, “Someone please find her!”
Racing to the door of the pub, Jason then cries out, “Stella’s still in there, we’ve got to get her out.”
However, Paul tells him, “Everyone wait. Until the crews arrive I’m in charge, no-one goes in that building.
“Stay back Jason, everyone get back. We’ve got to wait for back-up.”
A furious Jason then yells, “We’re letting her die in there!”
Pictures in the paper yesterday showed Stella’s limp and possibly lifeless body being carried out of the burning building, but we’ll have to wait until March 18 to find out if she is indeed the second victim of the blaze.
For now, here’s a look at Stella meeting her mum’s new fiancé Eric for the first time…
