Liz is hopeful that their impending nuptials will provide Vernon with the incentive to behave but getting carried away with the occasion Vernon has far too much to drink in the day and is out cold on the sofa by the time he’s supposed to meet Liz. Stood up at the restaurant Liz decides to make the most of the night and calls Derek (David Hounslow) to join her. As the evening goes on the pair enjoy each other’s company and as it comes to a close Derek moves in for a kiss. Will Liz respond?

Adam (Sam Robertson) meanwhile tells Ken (William Roache) that Peter has offered him a job in Portsmouth.
And Carla (Alison King) persuades her girls to work through the night at the factory to finish her order.
Monday 16 April 7.30 – 8pm ITV1
There’s a shock death at the factory
Carla’s (Alison King) jubilant as her workforce finish the last pair of dungarees. But her euphoria soon turns to horror as Kasia (Irena Rodic) takes a fall while loading the order into her car. As she lies motionless at the bottom of the stairs Carla grabs the phone while Vicki (Wanda Opalinska) attempts CPR on her friend. But instead of calling 999 Carla rings Paul (Sean Gallagher) who tells her wait for him exactly as they are. As he arrives it’s clear Kasia is already dead and thinking on his feet Paul decides the best course of action is to phone for the ambulance just after 8am when Kasia will be clocked in and could legally have been working. Sending Vicki home the Connors wait to put their plan into action. But when Liam (Rob James-Collier) and then Sally (Sally Whittaker) arrive at the factory early it looks like they’ve been caught in the act.
At the Rovers Vernon (Ian Reddington) wakes with a sore head and a lot of explaining to do after standing Liz (Beverley Callard) up at the restaurant. Feeling slightly guilty about last night herself Liz accepts his apology and Vernon thinks he’s off the hook as he sets about making it up to her. But when Derek (David Hounslow) calls asking to see Liz again will she be able to resist his charms?
Elsewhere Eileen (Sue Cleaver) tells Violet (Jenny Platt) she has to keep Holly as Emma’s an unfit mother. Violet knows there’s more to it but it seems that like Jason (Ryan Thomas) she’s wasting her breath trying to get through to Eileen.
And Sophie’s (Brooke Vincent) nervous as she prepares for her audition for the school play.
Monday 16 April 8.30 – 9pm ITV1
The Connors attempt to cover up the death at the factory
Paul (Sean Gallagher) ushers Sally (Sally Whittaker) away as he finally goes to phone for the ambulance. The street’s soon swarming with police and paramedics as Paul gives his statement. Then reassuring Carla (Alison King) and Liam (Rob James-Collier) it will all be fine so long as they stick to the story it looks like his cover up is working. Knowing Vicki (Wanda Opalinska) could be the only other fly in the ointment Carla pays her a visit explaining why they delayed making the call. Clearly upset Vicki’s unsure about their motives but when Carla explains making the accident legal was the only way of insuring there’d be insurance money for Kasia’s family she starts to waver.
Sally meanwhile tells the other factory girls what she saw and as the day goes on they start to realise that something’s not quite right with the Connors’ story.
Elsewhere back from holiday Jerry’s (Michael Starke) ex-wife Teresa (Karen Henthorn) finally comes storming round to the street to reclaim her electrical goods and her kids. But as she shouts the odds in the takeaway Jerry’s firm as he says she should never have left her children home alone. As the argument continues Jerry says she can have her electricals but the kids stop with him. How will Teresa react?
And when Audrey (Sue Nicholls) lets slip to Bill (Peter Armitage) that Gail’s (Helen Worth) 50th birthday is approaching he suggests organising a do.
Wednesday 18 April 7.30 – 8pm ITV1
Leanne and Liam find comfort in each other’s arms
As Leanne (Jane Danson) waits for a client at a posh hotel she’s stunned when the manager comes over and asks her to leave. As she’s escorted from the premises Leanne’s mortified as he tells her she doesn’t belong there and threatens to have her arrested for soliciting. Back on the street a humiliated Leanne finds Liam (Rob James-Collier) drowning his sorrows as he struggles to deal with the lies he’s told over Kasia’s death. Heading over to the Italian the pair clearly manage to cheer each other up and as Liam walks Leanne home he seizes the moment and moves in for a kiss. Has he finally broken down Leanne’s defences?
Meanwhile it looks like the Connors are in the clear as the Health and Safety officer tells Paul (Sean Gallagher) he’s satisfied there was no negligence at the factory and the death was an accident. But the day staff are convinced their bosses are hiding something as they quiz Paul about Kasia working overtime alone. Maybe it’s not quite all over yet.
Elsewhere Bill (Peter Armitage) has a shock marriage proposal for Audrey (Sue Nicholls) when Kevin (Michael LeVell) tells his dad he senses she’s looking for more commitment. How will Audrey respond?
And Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) worries about how she and Ken (William Roache) will cope alone together as Adam (Sam Robertson) and Peter (Chris Gascoyne) prepare to head off to Portsmouth.

With Emma gone Jason tries again to get through to his mum but Eileen isn’t prepared to discuss it forcing Jason to take serious action.

Today’s the day for Peter (Chris Gascoyne) and Adam (Sam Robertson) to leave for Portsmouth but as the Barlows share a farewell drink in the Rovers Maria (Samia Smith) still isn’t aware of Peter’s plans. It’s an awkward moment as she finds the intimate party and realising he probably intended to leave without saying goodbye it takes all the strength she can muster as she walks away knowing she’s been duped again.
Meanwhile the atmosphere’s strained as Ken (William Roache) and Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) face the prospect of being alone at no.1 with only each other and they’re crumbling marriage for company.
