Coronation Street villain Tony Gordon is a clever chappy. Not only has he gotten away with murder relatively easily, but now that Maria has found out that he killed Liam is is managing to make her seem completely blooming crazy!

Gray O’Brien plays Tony in the show and he has revealed how Tony is planning to discredit Maria with her friends and family…..and the police!

Gray told MSN: “He’s already got under Maria’s skin, and she’s starting to doubt herself. This storyline goes on for a few weeks, and by the end of it, the entire street thinks she’s out of her tree, that she’s completely lost it.

“She’s doing stuff which is totally unlike Maria on her mission to prove him guilty and in doing so, she makes herself look extremely vulnerable and silly, which plays into Tony’s hands.

“That’s really going to mess with her up.”

Tony has calmly confessed all to Maria and blackmailed her £1 million for her silence. She goes to the police, but Gray revealed even that goes in Tony’s favour.

He said: “It’s ridiculous. He says to the police that she’s lying, ‘Check my bank balance’ kind of thing, and can call her mad, a grieving widow and that she’s lost it.

“He gets past that without too much trouble. It’s not the end of it though, I know it’s going to come back, and come back, and come back. The villains always get caught, good will always conquer evil.”
