The feud between Coronation Street’s Tyrone Dobbs and Kevin Webster will have dire consequences in an upcoming episode.
The pair have been at loggerheads in recent months, after Tyrone – played by Alan Halsall – discovered that Kevin had been conducting an affair with his late wife Molly (Vicky Binns) and had fathered her baby son Jack. In a new storyline, the mechanic will feel “undermined” when Kevin buys new equipment for the garage they co-own, and then bans Dobbs from using it.
Alan explained: “Things are still icy. They have to share a business in the same way they shared Molly – and Tyrone can’t stand it. Kevin tries his best to be nice, but Tyrone’s not having any of it. Kevin can’t take the constant hassle any more.
“He buys the equipment with his lottery winnings, and Tyrone feels undermined when Kev won’t let him use it. It’s all very childish, but Tyrone wants to break the lift because Kev ruined his life. First he kicks it, then he grabs a spanner and really goes for it, knocking out a hydraulic fluid tube in the process.”
With Tyrone totally aware of how much damage he has caused, he will be shocked when he hears Kevin (Michael Le Vell) cry out in pain when he becomes stuck under the broken lift – an accident that will leave him fighting for his life in hospital.
Alan added to Inside Soap magazine: “Tyrone feels much better, but isn’t aware of how much damage he’s caused.
“When Tyrone hears Kevin’s screams, he’s just rooted to the spot. He didn’t realise anyone could get hurt, and now Kevin might die. Even after everything that’s been happening, he wouldn’t wish that on him for a moment.”
