The moment is approaching when veteran Coronation street character, Vera Duckworth will be no more.
Liz Dawn, the actress who has played Vera for the last 34 years, has announced that she must stop working due to ill health, and so street bosses have decided to kill her off.
But it’s not just us who will miss Vera, many of the ITV cast have revealed their sadness at losing such a dear friend.
Co-star Sue Nicholls, who plays Audrey on the show, told The Sun: “On screen and off, Liz and Vera will be terribly missed, I’ve been here since 1979, and she’s always been there so I really am going to miss her.”
Michael Le Vell, who plays mechanic Kevin Webster, added: “Liz has been like my surrogate mother, so it’s a big blow for me. I’ve known Liz now for nearly 25 years and she has been such a wonderful person to know. I’m going to miss her so much I can’t even tell you.”
