Coronation Street: Weekly Roundup

The trial of Tracey Barlow draws to a close, but what will the verdict be?

The kind people at Corrie have cunningly filmed two endings, in one Tracey is found guilty, in the other she walks free. But as yet there has been no indication of which one they will use.

“She is blatantly guilty,” Kate Ford, who plays Tracy told The Sun. “She murdered Charlie in cold blood. “She has done something terrible and she needs to pay. But on the other hand, I feel very loyal to Tracy, so I would really like to see her get off.”

“Hopefully, we will keep people guessing right up to the last minute,” smiles Kate, “I’ve had a fantastic time, but as I am leaving, this is definitely exit time for Tracy one way or the other.

“But there are lots of twists and turns along the way. Even I don’t know yet whether she will leave having been found guilty or not guilty!”

Also this week we will see an immigration scandal as it emerges that Joanne is an illegal immigrant. Janice calls the immigrations authorities after a row with Vicki, but unfortunately uit is Joanne who is led to the detention centre.

“It is the moment she has been dreading,” says Zaraah Abrahams, who plays Joanne.

“She was smuggled into the UK from Liberia, in Africa, when she was eight years old, to get her away from the civil war there. She has no proper papers and is terrified she’ll be sent back.”

Molly (Vicky Binns) is still amused by Dev’s mid-life crisis and stunned by the amount of money he is spending on his new golf attire. Amber wastes no time in joining in the teasing as Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) loses a game of virtual golf. Could Molly be right? Is Dev’s new passion for golf a substitute for the lack of romance in his life?
