Corrie bosses deny Sophie Webster will “switch her attractions to men” and Karl Munro’s rooftop horror!

A report in today’s Daily Mirror claimed that in a forthcoming storyline twist, lesbian Sophie Webster – who’s played by Brooke Vincent – would “switch her attractions to me” after her disastrous relationship with Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson) ended in heartache.

And likewise, Sophie’s crush on Amber (Nikki Patel) ended with Sophie’s humiliation as manipulative Amber toyed with her affections.

However, Digital Spy report that a Corrie spokesperson denied there would be any such plotline for Sophie.

The spokesperson said, “There is no truth whatsoever in claims that Sophie will question her sexuality again.

“We don’t know where this rumour has come from…”

In other Weatherfield news, it’s been revealed that in upcoming episodes, Karl Munro, who’s played by former Taggart star John Michie, will face his fear of heights to scale the roof at the Rovers…

However, when he ends up stranded up their, his worst fears seem to be becoming horrible reality.

John explained what happens to the TV Times, saying that it all begins when Karl orders a big screen TV for the pub, and a large satellite dish, and unsurprisingly, the residents of the Street are up in arms about the garish dish.

So, given she was against the plan from the get go, Stella (Michelle Collins) decides it’ll have to come down, and she sends Karl up onto the roof to dismantle the dish.

However, by way of revenge, she immediately takes the ladder away, leaving Karl stranded. And just to rub it in even more, as he clings to the tiles, Stella informs him she’s sold the telly and is keeping the cash for herself.

John said, “Karl is scared of heights and it terrifies him. At the same time Stella tells him she’s sold the TV.

“That annoys him as he paid a lot of money for it and he thinks she’s only got a fraction of what it’s worth.”

Perhaps this little stunt of Stella’s will be what prompts Karl into his affair with Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) which is set to begin soon.

But either way, we’ll see Karl’s rooftop fright next week.
