Corrie bosses to offer Brooke Vincent a “golden handcuffs” deal to stay on

It’s been reported today that amid fears she could quit the show to spend more time with her footballer boyfriend, Brooke Vincent has been offered a “golden handcuffs” deal to stay with the show.

Brooke, who of course plays Sophie Webster, is dating Chelsea footballer Josh McEachran, who’s currently on loan to Swansea City Football Club. And it had been feared that like Helen Flanagan, who played Rosie Webster, Brooke – who’s also starred in The League of Gentlemen – may have left to spend more time with Josh.

So, according to the Daily Mirror, the show’s bosses are set to offer her a “mega-bucks deal” which will ensure she stays with the soap for at least another year.

The paper adds, “Brooke’s contract does not run out until May but executives will open talks early over a six-figure deal to keep the 19-year-old in the Street.”

A show insider told the paper, “One of the reasons Helen left was that she found the commute to Swansea from Manchester hellish to see Scott…

“Bosses know Brooke is in love with Josh. Part of the negotiations, as well as more money to make sure she stays, will be making sure her filming schedules ensure she has a decent amount of time to get to see Josh.

“Brooke is hugely popular with the younger viewers and is seen as an essential part of the soap’s future.”

Last year, the show’s bosses offered Michelle Keegan, who plays Tina McIntyre, a new deal worth £130,000 to stay with the show.
