Corrie: Faye Windass’s “down and out” dad will arrive on the Street!
It’s been reported today that in episodes of Coronation Street that will air either later this year or early in 2013, we’re set to meet the “down and out” biological father of Anna Windass’s adopted daughter Faye.
The Sun’s TV Biz adds that the soap’s bosses are currently auditioning actors for the role, but it’s thought that the character isn’t set to become a permanent feature on the show.
An insider said, “The arrival of Faye’s real dad will come as a shock to everyone.
“She doesn’t come from a nice background and he will be a bit rough around the edges to say the least.
“It is strikingly obvious to Faye’s family that he is from the wrong side of the track.
“They are in for a lot of heartache…”
Troubled Faye (Ellie Leach) came to live with Anna (Debbie Rush) last year, however, within weeks of the little girl taking up residence, Anna split from husband Eddie (Steve Huison) and her son Gary (Mikey North) returned from a tour of duty with the army in Afghanistan with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Little wonder then that Faye has, at times, proved to be a rebellious and mischievous child, given that she had all that to deal with in addition to the turbulent home life she’d been removed from by social services.
And as fans may recall, a few months ago, Anna had to break the news to Faye that her birth mother had died of a suspected heroin overdose.
We will of course keep you posted as soon as we know more details about the arrival of Faye’s father.
