Fans of Coronation Street will know there’s no love lost between Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede) and Fiz Stape, and things are set to get a whole lot worse between them when wicked Kirsty deliberately injures Fiz next week…
You can read about that by clicking here, and also as we reported recently, though Kirsty’s fiancé Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) is currently trying his best to make his rocky relationship with Kirsty work – mainly for the sake of their baby daughter Ruby – he’s going to be left in no doubt about just how nasty Kirsty is when he overhears her threatening Fiz with violence.
And as Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz, has told Soaplife this week, her character is going to be left frustrated by Tyrone when, even after hearing Kirsty’s threats, he still refuses to leave the ex-copper.
She explained, “Fiz and Tyrone have been good mates for a long time. So to see Tyrone so helpless is difficult for Fiz…
“As Tyrone’s friend Fiz has tried all different tactics to make him see what Kirsty is really like.
“She’s frustrated that Tyrone won’t leave Kirsty.”
Jennie went on to say that Fiz will do her best to encourage Tyrone to stand up to Kirsty.
She said, “Kirsty gets jealous of the friends Tyrone’s making at the mother and baby group and bans him from going.
“So Fiz tells Tyrone that he can’t let Kirsty dictate his life and encourages him to ignore Kirsty and go to the group’s party.”
However, Kirsty finds out and orders Tyrone to leave the party.
Jennie said, “So Fiz lets Kirsty know that she knows what happened. You can clearly see that just Fiz talking about Tyrone makes Kirsty’s blood boil.”
When asked if Fiz is afraid of Kirsty, Jennie said, “Fiz is quite a tough cookie, but Kirsty does disturb her.
“Fiz is very stubborn and has a sense of justice – and she really cares about Tyrone.
“She will want to see this through to the end. She wants the truth to come out.”
Don’t miss the drama on Corrie next week, but for now, here’s a reminder of how violent Kirsty can be…
