In the episode of Coronation Street that airs a week today, returning character Ryan Connor is going to leave his mum Michelle (Kym Marsh) devastated when she catches him snorting cocaine.

We have of course heard lots of spoilers about how Ryan (Sol Heras) is set to corrupt Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) by introducing her to drugs, and just this afternoon, we reported that Ryan’s also set to rock the Street by having an affair with a “cougar”.

But of Michelle finding out Ryan has a drug habit, she’ll find him snorting the Class A substance in the toilets at the Rovers after she follows him in there when David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) tells her that Ryan offered Kylie (Paula Lane) drugs…

It’s an accusation that Michelle’s vehemently refutes, but once she catches Ryan red handed – or red nosed – she’ll have no choice but to accept the truth.

A show insider told the Daily Star, “Michelle and Ryan have always had a pretty open and honest relationship.

“When she finds out he’s been kicked out of university she realises just how much he has changed.

“She realises the Ryan who went away is the not the same boy standing in front of her. His involvement in drugs shocks her to the core and leaves her terrified for his safety…

“He’s putting his life in danger by taking drugs so she has no problem reporting him to the police.

“Michelle hopes that it will make him stop. Whether it does remains to be seen.”

As mentioned, we’ll see that drama a week today.
