Corrie: OMG! Sophie Webster may never walk again after horror ‘drug fuelled’ car crash with Ryan!

It’s been reported today that in episodes of Coronation Street that will air next month, Sophie Webster will be told she may spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair after she’s involved in an horrific car crash!

The storyline begins when junkie Ryan Connor (Sol Heras) who’s high on cocaine, takes Sophie (Brooke Vincent) on a high speed car ride that ends in disaster when the impaired lad crashes the car.

Knowing he’s high on drugs, cowardly Ryan immediately flees the scene, even though he can see that Sophie’s been horribly injured.

So when emergency services arrive on the scenes, Ryan’s nowhere to be found, but of course, ultimately, he’ll have to answer for what he’s done when Sophie tells police he was driving…

But when she’s rushed to hospital, doctors immediately operate on her spine, however, the medics warns Sophie’s mum and dad, Sally and Kevin – who are played by Sally Dynevor and Michael Le Vell – that Sophie may never walk again due to the serious nature of her injuries.

Back on the Street, word soon spreads that Ryan was driving the car at the time of the smash, and Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) tells his step-daughter Tracy (Kate Ford) that in light of what’s happened, she must end her relationship with Ryan.

As we reported yesterday, Tracy and Ryan become an item after Tracy sees the romance as an opportunity to wind Ryan’s mum – and Tracy’s love rival – Michelle (Kym Marsh) up.

According to the Daily Star, Ken will be heard to say, “I bumped into Sally on the way back from the hospital. Sophie’s had an operation on her back.

“She’s awake but there’s a chance she’ll never walk again.”

When a shocked Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) asks what happened, he explains, “She was with Ryan.

“He was high on drugs, dodging cars on the road or something. According to Sally he ran off when the ambulance came.”

To Tracy, Ken says, “You should cast him away without a second thought.”

The paper adds, “Corrie insiders says this is going to be one of the biggest storylines of the autumn and the fallout will be felt for months.”

We will of course keep you posted on this storyline, and exactly when the episodes will air, as soon as we get more info on it.
