Corrie: Simon Gregson will watch Kat Kelly’s play, and Georgia May Foote on kissing Sam Aston!
What’s On TV report today that Corrie star Simon Gregson has vowed to go and watch his former co-star Katherine Kelly – who of course recently left the show and her role as Becky McDonald – in her theatre production of She Stoops To Conquer.
The play is being performed at the National Theatre in London, however, it seems the gesture is quite the sacrifice for Simon – who plays Steve McDonald – as he “hates” theatre.
He said, “I guess I’ll see it. I’m not a big fan of the theatre. One of the Corrie directors called me an anti-thespian and I think he’s probably right.
“I’ll go down and support my friends. I don’t know if I’ll be able to sit through the whole thing though.
“I just don’t like being in theatres. She’s a proper actress through and through, whereas I’m the complete opposite.
“I’ll be like, ‘I saw the beginning, now I’m off to the pub…’ But no I’ll go and support her…”
Also making news from Weatherfield today is that Georgia May Foote has revealed that her “most embarrassing” moment in the show was when she had to kiss co-star Sam Aston for the first time.
20 year old Georgia plays teen mum Katy Armstrong, and Sam of course plays Katy’s boyfriend, Chesney Brown.
Speaking to Inside Soap, Georgia explained, “My first ever kissing scene with Sam in the Rovers was my most embarrassing moment.
“I wasn’t nervous, but Sam was petrified and I honestly don’t know why.
“The crew started playing this really romantic music and Sam nearly died.
“He’s much better now though. Besides, he’s seen me giving birth on set, so he can’t be embarrassed any more!”
Here’s a clip of Georgia and Sam talking about their storylines on Alan Titchmarsh’s show…
