Fans of Coronation Street will of course know that Kirsty Soames is violent and abusive towards her fiancé Tyrone Dobbs, and he is currently planning to marry her only with the intention of being sure he can then have legal rights over their baby daughter Ruby…
And of course, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is having an affair with his neighbour and former girlfriend Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) who he intends to be with permanently once he’s got rid of Kirsty (Natalie Gumede).
However, though the wedding day is now in sight, and therefore supposedly an end to Tyrone’s torment is also within reach, it seems that Kirsty has rumbled Tyrone’s affair, and is about to take revenge by accusing HIM of beating her!
The plot twist will air next week when we see Kirsty and Tyrone arriving at the church for their big day, and though ITV are keeping under wraps the outcome of the wedding – and whether they leave the church as man and wife or not – what is known is that during the evening, Kirsty will fall down the stairs at home…
And when she’s rushed to hospital, she’ll tell police that Tyrone pushed her, and will add that he’s beaten her before!
He will then be arrested and will spend his wedding night in a cell while on the Street, the police will question his neighbours.
Of course, Fiz, Tommy (Chris Fountain) and Tina (Michelle Keegan) are sure to tell the cops that it’s in fact Kirsty who’s the violent one, but once doubt is there, Tyrone’s not going to find it a walk in the park to get custody of the baby.
Natalie spoke to TV Biz about her wicked character Kirsty, saying of the plot twist, “She’s so in love with Tyrone and she hates him for what he’s done…
“And if she can’t have him nobody can.
“It’s that thing of still trying to get their attention. While she’s doing this to him, she still has him, she still has a hold over him.
“Her world has fallen apart. She had a very unhappy childhood and a lot of unhappy relationships before meeting Tyrone.
“But just when she thought everything was going to go right, it has gone wrong.
“Something has really died in Kirsty. Tyrone was the love of her life and I think that’s the one piece of happiness she thought she had.
“Throughout their relationship and mistakes, he has appeared to forgive her, so she thought they were OK.”
And of how Kirsty gets Tyrone arrested, Natalie revealed that her character will use her knowledge of police procedures – she was of course formerly a copper – to make the police believe her claims.
She said, “I don’t think there are any limits to how far Kirsty will go now. She’s an intelligent girl and she knows how to manipulate.
“She’s been given a set of circumstances and knows how to turn them to her favour.”
We’ll see the dramatic wedding day events on Monday, but for now, here’s a look at Kirsty putting her revenge plan into action…
