Corrie star Catherine Tyldesley says ecstasy victim Rose Farley was a “beautiful girl inside and out”

Before joining the cast of Coronation Street as Eva Price, in addition to roles in Emmerdale, Holby City and Red Riding, Catherine Tyldesley played the part of Iris Moss in BBC drama Lilies…

And today, it’s been revealed that tragic teenager Rose Farley co-starred with Catherine on the drama in the role of Margaret McBride.

Rose of course died at the weekend after her drink was allegedly “spiked” with ecstasy. The PA report that a teenaged boy has been arrested in connection with Rose’s death.

Of Rose, Catherine said, “Such a loss. Beautiful girl inside and out. My deepest sympathies.”

Rose fell ill while attending a party in Liverpool, but despite being rushed to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, she died in the early hours of Saturday, leaving her family and friends devastated…

Of the investigation into her death, Detective Superintendent Tim Keelan of Merseyside Police said, “At this stage it is too early to draw conclusions about the cause of death and it is unhelpful to speculate.

“The implication that this may be drug-related is just one of the lines of inquiry that our comprehensive investigation is looking at.

“That said, I would like to take this opportunity to warn people about the dangers of taking illegal substances.

“The effects of drugs are not always immediately apparent or can be delayed. This can sometimes result in people taking more in order to speed up the effects.

“This can have devastating results, one of which can be death.”

Meanwhile, Rose’s grief stricken sister Molly posted an online tribute to her sibling which reads, “I couldn’t have had a better sister. You were the best thing in my life.”

Another message on Facebook reads, “Justice for Rose. Lock up those vile people for taking a little Scouser away from us.”

lol ecstasy doesn’t kill people, it’s one of the safest drugs and yet it’s a class A. What killed her was probably lack of water….
