Corrie star Kym Marsh says of being parted from hubby Jamie, “Yes it’s hard and I’m tired…”

Coronation Street star Kym Lomas and her former Hollyoaks actor husband Jamie have of course endured one of the worst things that can ever happen to anyone – the death of a child…

And though the couple have of course had their ups and downs, just as everyone does, they’ve weathered the storms and last year, they wed in a beautiful autumnal ceremony, during which Kym carried baby Archie’s ashes as she walked down the aisle.

However, according to the Mirror today, friends of the couple are concerned on the strain that’s being placed on Kym and Jamie’s marriage by the fact that he’s in America trying to launch a career in films.

His trip to LA is the third in two years, and it’s come at a time when Kym’s dad is unwell, leaving her to cope with that and the demands of being a working mum.

One source close to the couple told the paper, “It’s very difficult for them both.”

And of Kym and Jamie spending Valentine’s Day apart, the insider said, “They’ll chat on Skype together and Jamie will probably send flowers but it’s hard to make a relationship work with so much time apart.

“Jamie is absolutely determined to make it work over there – he’s almost obsessed with it.

“But it’s proving very tough for him and he hasn’t had much success despite lots of auditions and meetings.

“A number of their friends think he should call time on the American dream and focus on their marriage.”

The paper adds, “When Jamie left the country last year, Kym admitted the long-distance relationship had been under strain but denied they were splitting.”

In her magazine column, Kym – who of course plays Michelle Connor in Corrie – wrote, “First of all, we’re not on the rocks.

“And secondly, we’ve never hidden the fact things have been difficult for all of us with him being away, but he’s been painted as the villain of the piece.

“The inference is he’s abandoned me. It’s not like that at all.

“The decision for him to go to Los Angeles was a joint one and I knew how long for.

“Yes, it’s hard and I’m tired, and my dad being ill added to all of the stress, but I’ve got a really good network of family and friends to rely on.”

Apparently, neither Kym nor Jamie returned calls from the paper asking them to comment.
