Corrie star Natalie Gumede has no idea what’s ahead for Kirsty Soames
As we saw in last night’s episode of Corrie, Kirsty Soames just gets nuttier by the minute, and it’s poor Tyrone who’s bearing the brunt of it in the form of the domestic violence towards him at Kirsty’s hands.
However, as we met Kirsty’s evidently rambunctious dad Ed last night – who’s played by former Heartbeat actor David Lonsdale, and who spoke to his wife Alison (Dawn Hope) like she was something he’d just stepped in – we might make assumptions that there’s a history of domestic unrest at the heart of what’s going on with Kirsty.
But as to how it’s all going to pan out for Kirsty and Tyrone (Alan Halsall), Natalie Gumede, who of course plays the pregnant former copper, says she has no idea what the writers have in store for her character, but she’s loving every minute of playing her…
Speaking to Digital Spy, and when first asked if Kirsty will ever rejoin the force, Natalie said, “I haven’t had any information about that – the indication has been that I now work in the factory and that’s it!”
However, she added, “But stranger things have happened – I did quite enjoy wearing the uniform!”
Natalie added, “I think [what happens to Kirsty is] for the writers and the producers to decide!
“There’s so much scope for it to go in several directions.
“I don’t know how the story resolves itself, so I’m just going to enjoy what I’m doing for the moment.”
But she’s not enjoying having to tote around her prosthetic baby bump, especially during the hot spell.
Natalie said, “(It’s) very hot! Especially now that the weather’s getting warmer, so I will be glad when the baby’s finally here!”
