Corrie star Simon Gregson says Steve has Tracy “in his sights and he’s aiming for the kill!”
As fans of Corrie will know, on his wedding day to Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) Steve McDonald’s ex, Becky (Kat Kelly) dropped the bombshell that Tracy had lied about the circumstances of her miscarriage last Christmas…
However, as Becky waited until the reception to give Steve the news, he was by then hitched to Tracy, much to his frustration.
But things have gone from bad to way worse for him now that Tracy has moved into Number 13, which Steve bought for the couple just before the wedding.
So when Tracy refuses to move out, an angry Steve – who is of course played by Simon Gregson – calls in builder Owen Armstrong (Ian Puleston Davies) to put up dividing walls which will quite literally split the house into two parts…
But when Tracy sees what he’s done, she tells Steve he’s just unleashed the “neighbour from hell!”
Of the plotline, Simon told ITV, “He’s completely stuck with Tracy, she won’t move out of the house, he doesn’t know what to do, but he comes up with [this] marvellous plan.
“Tracy gets home, she sees the wall and goes mental. But he knows exactly where he’s coming from now.
“He’s not going to get tripped up again, he’s got her in his sights and he’s aiming for the kill.”
Simon – who landed the part of Steve when he was chosen by a Corrie talent scout at his school in Gatley, along with Nicholas Cochrane who plays Steve’s twin, Andy – concluded, “She threatens to become the neighbour from hell, but she’s pushed Steve so far, that now Steve is the devious monkey. Let’s see who wins this battle.”
