Corrie: Stella Price is going to find love on the cobbles, but with whom?!

by Lynn Connolly

As fans of Coronation Street will of course know, Rovers landlady Stella Price has been single since she ended her long-term relationship with philandering gambler Karl Munro (John Michie).

He subsequently moved in with his lover Sunita (Shobna Gulati) even though he wants to get back with Stella.

She however isn’t remotely interested in forgiving Karl, much less in taking him back, but according to Michelle Collins, who of course plays Stella, her character is set to find love with another Street resident in forthcoming episodes.

But who’s the lucky man? Well, while speaking to Metro about the storyline, Michelle wouldn’t reveal who Stella’s new lover will be…

She said, “Stella is going to have a little bit of a romance in her life coming up.

“I can’t really say who it is, but it’s quite exciting.

“It is someone on the street and it’s someone that people like. That’s all I’m going to say.

“I don’t really know too much about it as they’ve just started it.”

When asked if there’s any chance that Stella could fall for Sunita’s ex-husband Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) Michelle wouldn’t confirm or deny it, but she did say that she loves to work with Jimmi.

She added, “I’ve known Jimmi for years. We go back a long way, so that would be quite fun.

“I adore him, he’s very funny. It’s nice working with him.”

However, when asked if there are likely to be any risqué love scenes, Michelle joked, “I’m not sure people would be interested in that, to be honest with you.

“No-one has ever paid me to take my clothes off for a job, ever. Hopefully I’ve got jobs on my acting ability and nothing else.”

Michelle added, “But if the storyline wanted something like that then I’d talk to the director [and] if it was tastefully done, then why not?

“I don’t think you can be too precious about these things.

“But it is Corrie, it’s before [the] watershed, so you can’t really get away with too much.”

Who do you reckon Stella’s new bloke will be?
