It’s been reported by Digital Spy that at the end of this month, Karl Munro’s Corrie affair with Sunita Alahan is going to become public knowledge, even though it is of course now over…
So far, only Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) has had any suspicions about the pair, but not wanting to upset her mum Stella, who is of course Karl’s girlfriend, she’s kept her concerns to herself so far.
However, when Karl (John Michie) and Sunita (Shobna Gulati) revisit their passion and share a kiss in the back room of the Rovers, Stella (Michelle Collins) walks in and catches them at it.
I cannot wait to see the fall out from that!
In other Corrie news, newcomer Marc Baylis has revealed that his character Rob Donovan is harbouring a “dangerous” side that he’ll try to hide from the Street’s residents…
As you probably know, Rob is Carla Connor’s brother, and he’s set to arrive in Weatherfield having just been released from prison.
Speaking to the show’s official website about his character, Marc said, “He is a hard-worker and family is very important to him, although he does have a very edgy side to him.
“When pushed or angered, I think he can be quite dangerous.”
Marc added, “He has done a lot of courses to better himself in prison, but he has also met a lot of people who could help him out if he needed it.
“However, I think at the moment he is trying to stay on the straight and narrow as he tries to prove himself to Carla [Alison King].”
And of why Rob was imprisoned, Marc explained, “Rob was the driver in a post-office robbery; he was trying to gather £5000 pounds to pay off his mother’s debts to a drug-dealer.
“He felt Carla should have been there, because Rob thinks she would have had the money to help them out.
“He feels she disassociated herself from the rest of the family by abandoning them.”
And of Rob’s relationship with his sister, Marc remarked, “He and Carla are both fiery, passionate, independent people, so when they clash expect to see fireworks!
“They have a lot of unfinished business and unresolved issues that could rear there head at anytime, so their relationship is a very exciting one!
“When they work together they are an unstoppable force!”
But of course, Carla is soon to be leaving the Street temporarily, and of that, Marc said, “He is disappointed that she leaving, as he really wants to re-establish a relationship with his sister.
“He finds it hard to understand her reasons for leaving at first but he trusts his sister’s judgement and he is happy to take over Underworld while she is away.
“Rob sees this as the perfect opportunity to prove himself, and enjoys working with Michelle.
“He respects his sister and is there to support her.”
We’ll meet Rob in the episode that airs on Monday 9th July.
