As fans of Coronation Street will no doubt know, one of the major developing storylines in the soap is the plan to have Katy Armstrong (Georgia May Foote) have a baby for her disabled sister Izzy and her boyfriend, Gary Windass.

However, we’ve also seen how vociferous Katy and Izzy’s dad Owen (Ian Puleston Davies) has been in his objections to the idea – which of course came about after Izzy suffered a miscarriage – and according to the Daily Star, his disapproval will see the plan fail.

But of course, Izzy and Gary (Mikey North) remain desperate to have a baby of their own, so when Owen offers them thousands of pounds to pay another woman to have their child, it’s an offer they can’t refuse.

And likewise, when cash strapped Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) hears that Gary and Izzy are prepared to pay thousands to the woman who’ll carry their child, she decides it could be the answer to her and Tommy’s financial mess…

Tommy (Chris Fountain) is of course up to his eyeballs in debt – after he borrowed thousands from his mate Tyrone – and he’s been working several jobs, exhausting himself in the process, to pay the money back.

However, when Tommy hears about Tina’s plan to have a baby for Gary and Izzy he tries to talk her out of it.

He tells her, “I can’t do this for nine months. All I just want is it to be me and you.”

But Tina replies, “You know that they need us as much as we need them.

“If you want to wipe the slate clean and have the kind of life we want to have, then this has to work.

“We’ve got to go to that clinic and keep everything crossed that this works.”

A show source told the paper, “It’s a massive deal for everyone involved.”

This is going to be a humdinger of a plotline isn’t it?!
