Corrie: Michelle Keegan and Max George at war over her £10k engagement ring!
Fans of Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan will no doubt be aware that she and former fiancé Max George, a singer in boy band The Wanted, ended their relationship earlier this year, having apparently grown apart due to their various work commitments…
And at first, it all seemed relatively amicable, with both Michelle – who plays Tina McIntyre in the soap – and Max agreeing that their only issue with each other was the long-distance nature of their romance, which neither felt could be sustained.
However, in today’s Daily Mirror, it’s reported that things have taken a turn for the worse in their post-romance relationship because Max wants Michelle to return the engagement ring that he bought her, and she it would seem is either not going to, or will do so when she’s good and ready!
The paper states that Max has been “pleading” for the return of the £10,000 ring for some four months now, and a source close to the couple reckons that Michelle’s reluctance to hand it back is some form of payback for Max’s alleged infidelity when they were together.
A source close to Max said, “He is desperate to get it back but is not getting anywhere” but a friend of Michelle’s said that she is “staggered” over the demand.
Her mate added, “It’s a bit rich considering all that’s subsequently come out to suddenly start demanding it back.
“Perhaps he needs the money.”
Speaking to Hello magazine recently about their split, Michelle said, “Obviously it was a very sad time for us, as we were together for 19 months.
“But I got to think of it as ‘I’m not the only girl who has ever had a break-up’.
She added, “The worst part for me was having the whole thing played out so publicly. In the end, I had to simply ignore the gossip and throw myself in my work.
“I was really busy with some great storylines and my friends were amazing.
“But eventually you just have to let things go and get on with life. I’m in a much better place now.”
Here’s a clip of Michelle talking about being single again…
