As fans of Coronation Street will know, scheming Tracy Barlow has been dating Ryan Connor (Sol Heras) with the sole intention of annoying his mum – and Tracy’s love rival – Michelle (Kym Marsh).
However, her scheme is about to backfire royally when she discovers that she’s pregnant with Ryan’s baby! But when she’s given it some thought, she’s set to realise that it’s the icing on her Annoy Michelle cake!
Kate Ford, who of course plays Tracy, has been talking about the plotline to new! magazine, saying, “Tracy doesn’t act like a regular person. She does something, then thinks about it later.
“To her, the baby news is great timing. She’s now holding all the cards.”
And when asked if she’s enjoying playing “a cougar” in the ITV1 soap, Kate said, “Playing a cougar makes me feel old, but apparently boys find them quite sexy…
“It’s a very enjoyable situation for her [Tracy] and she’s having great sex with a bloke 14 years younger than her.”
You can read the full story in this week’s new! magazine which is out today.
But there’s further unrest ahead for the Barlows when, as we reported yesterday, Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) catches her husband Ken visiting his former mistress Wendy Crozier (Roberta Kerr).
Of the storyline, Anne has told ITV that when Deirdre finds out Ken’s (Bill Roache) seeing Wendy again, she immediately assumes that they’ve reignited their former passion, prompting her to make a radical decision.
Anne explained, “Deirdre’s gobsmacked and horrified. This is the woman that ruined her marriage 20 years ago and she can’t believe she’s back in their lives.
“It brings all sorts of emotions flooding back for Deirdre and she starts to wonder how he met her again, or if he ever stopped! She feels sick.
“She tells him it’s the job or her. Ken’s crushed, he claims he’s rediscovered a part of himself and the role means a lot to him but Deirdre can’t see past Wendy.
“Ken and Deirdre have been through so much together she’s determined not to let Wendy come between them like she did 20 years ago.
“She doesn’t trust Wendy and she makes it clear to Ken that she’ll be watching them like a hawk.
“If anything goes on with Wendy they’ll be done with for good!
“Wendy pushes all Deirdre’s buttons so maybe she’s not too old for a catfight on the cobbles just yet!”
We’ll see that drama on Monday, October 8 at 7.30pm on ITV1.
