In an episode of Corrie that airs a week tomorrow, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) will lash out as his best mate Tommy Duckworth when he confronts Tyrone’s newly returned fiancé Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede) over her violence towards Ty.

However, the confrontation comes after Tommy (Chris Fountain) sees Tyrone with a bandage, and assuming that Kirsty must have injured Ty again – Tommy’s girlfriend Tina (Michelle Keegan) has confided in him about Tyrone’s domestic situation – he gives Kirsty a tongue lashing.

Kirsty is of course horrified to learn that Tyrone has told Tina, and that she’s told Tommy, about what goes on behind closed doors in their home.

But it will transpire that Tyrone accidentally scalded himself, and the injury was in fact not down to Kirsty at all.

A Coronation Street insider said of the plot twist, “Tommy has been watching Tyrone mope around ever since Kirsty walked out on him, so he decides to get her back.

“He has no idea what she’s been up to and only discovers the truth once they’re reunited.

“Tina swears him to secrecy but Tommy can’t keep his mouth shut when he sees Tyrone with a bandaged arm.

“He jumps to the wrong conclusion – that Kirsty was behind his injury. She is angry and humiliated by his outburst.

“Tommy and Tina are the only ones on the street who know the truth about Kirsty but no one is going to believe them.

“It’s going to take some doing to get them all talking again and Tommy regrets persuading Kirsty to go back to Tyrone.”
