The Daily Mirror is reporting that Coronation Street actor Mikey North – who plays thug Gary Windass – has been attacked over Easter and as a result, has suffered a broken jaw which required emergency surgery to repair.

22 year old Mikey was allegedly assaulted by two men as he was on his way home from a nightclub following a night out with his girlfriend and a group of friends in Scarborough.

Apparently, the two attackers provoked Gary about his Coronation Street character and then set upon him, leaving him lying injured on the pavement and covered in blood…

A Coronation Street spokesman told the paper, “There was an incident at the weekend which resulted in Mikey North sustaining facial injuries.

“He was treated in hospital and the matter is now in the hands of the police.”

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police added, “A 19-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“He has been released on bail while police enquiries continue.”
