Corrie actors Ryan Thomas and Tina O’Brien – who played on-screen husband and wife – have split up after what the Sunday People describes as “a series of bitter rows.”

According to the paper’s report, Tina left the couple’s home with their one-year-old daughter Scarlett last week and sources close to the couple reckon she “has no plans to return.”

One of those sources told the paper, “They can’t stand the sight of each other. There’s not much hope of them getting back together.

“It’s completely over between them. Ryan and Tina have always had a fiery relationship, although deep down everyone thought they would spend the rest of their lives together…

“They fought like cat and dog, even in front of friends, but that just came as part and parcel of their romance.

“But recently the arguments became more frequent and slowly but surely they were driven apart. One fight was even over cheating.

“At the moment it is very acrimonious and there is little chance of them ever getting back together. It is still very raw and they are barely even on speaking terms.”

News of their separation comes after reports yesterday that Ryan was questioned by police for allegedly crashing his car into a lamp post in Manchester City Centre and then leaving the scene of the accident. However, Ryan was not charged with any crime but will apparently be questioned over the incident again.

Their split could make for awkward tensions on-screen when – if the rumours are to be believed – Tina will reprise her role as Sarah in the Street for the show’s anniversary celebrations next year.
