COUNTRY HOUSE RESCUE: Cothay Manor, Somerset
In a brand new series, renowned businesswoman Ruth Watson advises the owners of stately homes how to raise revenue to secure the future of their properties. Alastair and Mary-Anne Robb bought superb medieval house Cothay Manor 15 years ago. To try to raise revenue they opened their beautiful gardens to the public, but the Robbs have never made a profit. In addition, they have yet to decide which of their four children will inherit the house, which could leave a million-pound tax bill legacy and cause a family row. Enter Ruth – whose solutions do not always impress Mary-Anne.
