Courtney Cox to be reunited with her ‘Friends’ husband, Matthew Perry in his new sitcom, Go On!
Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry are to be reunited after nine years apart as on-screen lovers in Perry’s new sitcom, Go On, The Sun newspaper reports.
Cox and Perry are best known for playing the best friends turned husband and wife duo, Monica Geller and Chandler Bing in the US phenomenon sitcom, Friends, but now, nine years after the show ended they are to be reunited as on-screen lovers in Perry’s new sitcom, Go On.
The pair, whose last appearance together was in 2004, will play awkward lovers when Cox guest stars as a potential love interest for Perry’s character, radio sports host Ryan King, as he tries to move on following the death of his wife.
The episode is expected to air in the US in April, with plans to release it in the UK later in the year.
This may be the first reunion for Perry and Cox, who is also starring as single mother Jules Cobb in sitcom Cougar Town, now in its fourth season, since Friends ended, but other members of the cast have appeared together more recently.
Courtney Cox joined forces with her former on-screen brother, David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller, to take part in Lisa Kudrow’s, who played Phoebe on Friends, comedy series Web Therapy.
Meanwhile both Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green in Friends, have both guest appeared on Cox’s own sitcom, Cougar Town and Jennifer also guest starred in Courtney’s drama series Dirt, whilst David has directed two episodes of Matt Le Blanc’s Friends spin-off Joey.
Perry hinted last year that he would welcome appearances from his former Friends cast mates on Go On, saying: “That would be fantastic somewhere down the line.”
