Deadliest Catch Crab Debacle!

Never work with children, animals…or crabs! Friday’s Discovery photo call for the launch of Deadliest Catch went horribly wrong as a tank holding £5,000 worth of giant crabs smashed on the ground.

Since Deadliest Catch premiered on Discovery Channel in 2005, millions of viewers have been captivated by the fleet of crab-fishing boats and their unforgettable captains and crews who risk life and limb, braving treacherous conditions on the high seas. This May the Emmy®-nominated series returns to Discovery, launching with eight brand-new episodes Tuesdays from 6th May.

This year injuries dominate the season, plus there are more pranks and rivalries than ever before as a new boat joins the fleet; the North American is Deadliest Catch’s first “green” fishing vessel and is captained by Erling Skaar, a long standing rival of the legendary Sig Hansen.

The potential dangers become all too clear in the first episode when the Wizard almost doesn’t survive heavy seas that rip a hole in the hull before she even makes it to Dutch Harbour. Family takes precedence on the Northwestern with the introduction of a new Hansen crest, and on the Time Bandit with the addition of Jonathan’s son Scott. After a traditional toast, the season finally gets under way…
