X Factor USA judge and singer Demi Lovato has spoken once again about the struggles she faced while growing up in the public eye.
The star, who also is appearing on hit TV show ‘Glee’ also discussed how her friend Miley Cyrus is coping with the same issues.
Demi Lovato as we’ve said recently and she’ll admit this herself isn’t one to hide away when it comes to talking about her past struggles and how she admitted herself into rehab.
The young star is even releasing her first book this month in the hope that she can help others identify similar issues and how to cope with them.
Lovato recently spoke with Katie Couric and spoke about the pressures of growing up in the public eye and explained that it’s tough and for her going into rehab when she did was the best thing she could have done:
“I think that the world needs to get over the fact that she was Hannah Montana when she was 16. I guess my transition was a little easier because I went straight to rehab. I didn’t twerk, I just went to rehab.”
Lovato also added that she believes Miley Cyrus is in control of her behaviour and that people should maybe back off and not be so critical of the star:
“I think she knows what she’s doing. A lot of artists take that route of shock value, and that’s totally fine and that’s great. But I think she has such an incredible voice that’s overshadowed by some of the things that she’s doing.”
She added: “It’s her journey. She’s having fun. She’s being who she is. I’ll always love her. She’s been one of my friends since I was 14. But everyone is on their different journeys right now and she’s doing that and she’s having fun… so power to her.”
Earlier today Demi Lovato released the official video for ‘Neon Lights’ which is taken from her new album ‘Demi’ which she released earlier this year.
The star shared the link to the video (which you can see below) to her Twitter followers with the hashtag ‘#NeonLightsMusicVideoToday‘.
