Dermot O’Leary is all set to open a fish restaurant in Brighton and has admitted that he is nervous about launching it in the middle of a credit crunch.

Dermot confessed: “Oh my God yes I’m nervous – in the middle of a recession I’m insane!”

He continued: “It’s a fish brasserie and we’re opening in late May. It’s not posh, posh but yeah it’s a posh fish and chip shop.

“It’s me and two friends and we’ve known each other for about five or six years and they both work in the restaurant trade and we’ve been talking about it for ages. One of them is married to my girlfriend Dee’s best friend and the girls did the interior so it’s a nice family thing. So fingers crossed everyone else will like it.

“I’ve been a bit of a fisherman ever since I was a kid. I’m down in Brighton about once a month fishing anyway. I sound like such a nerd don’t I, in a really cool way!”
