Derren Brown’s critically-acclaimed Trick or Treat returns for a second series, but this time round the game is raised for all involved. As before members of the public make a blind choice of a Trick or Treat card. If they pick “Treat”, Derren will use his skills to ensure something pleasant happens to them; if they pick “Trick”, the result will be something quite dark.
In the opening show of the new series, Derren ambushes Glen, a father of two, who agrees to compete in a Night of the Champions pub quiz, where the top teams from all over London will be gathered. Derren has a week in which to convince Glen that he has a greater memory capacity than he first thought and “train” him for the big night. Can Derren turn him into a genius in just seven days?

Does anyone have any idea on how he did this one?
Or is it just camera editing?
Can you really use your subconscious mind to memorize things with out consciously taking in information?
Or is it simply mind over matter?
Maybe Hypnosis plays apart?
Its really got me can anyone shed some light on the subject?
