Only two years after leaving Desperate Housewives, word is that Jesse Metcalfe is to return to the show that made him famous.

The actor, who plays gorgeous gardener John Rowland, will return during the upcoming season. OK magazine says we can expect “a lot of shirtless scenes,” which can never be a bad thing.

Series Creator Marc Cherry says that John will be back as a divorced man who is “doing well in a different industry”. Cherry also goes on to reveal that “when Ana finds out that Gabrielle had an affair with John, she sets her sights on him, which upsets Gabrielle”.

But what does this say about Metcalfe’s career? He left Wisteria Lane two years ago hoping for big roles but he has barely graced our screens since. He has certainly made headlines but they concerned his love life, his passion for girlband singers and his addictions and not his great acting skills. It just shows, it take more than a hot body to make a star.
