Dexter Season Six spoilers: New video promo unveiled at Comic Con 2011 – more religious overtones!
The stars of Dexter showed up for their Comic Con panel yesterday and to coincide with the event, Showtime released a new video promo for the upcoming sixth season of the show.
The clip has religious overtones, much like the video that preceded it last week and in it, Dex is about to kill a man who murdered his wife, when he notices a tattoo of Jesus on his chest. he then takes the time to ask his victim:
‘What would Jesus have done? Seriously how can you reconcile your belief in a higher power with what you’ve done?’
When asked yesterday, why his serial killer alter ego was suddenly turning to God, Michael C Hall revealed that the change in attitude has been caused by fatherhood.
“His son is growing into a little boy and is only going to get older and in need of guidance.”
“Dexter feels ill-equipped to provide that and as a result he is very motivated to find ways to do that…. including maybe giving him some sort of spiritual grounding. It’s something Dexter has never really cared about, but recognizes his son might need.”
We brought you a great picture gallery from season six last night and you can check out the photos here.
In it, viewers can get a first look at series newcomers Edward James Olmos – who will play this season’s bad guy and Colin Hanks – who takes on the role of Travis, a highly intelligent young expert on ancient artefacts.
“Dexter” will return to US TV screens on Sunday, October 2 at 9/8c on Showtime, season five is currently airing on FX in the UK.
