Dirty Sexy Money: Review Of Episode One

Dirty Sexy Money

I know I’m a bit late with this one! Dirty Sexy Money kicked off last Friday night on Channel 4, but I only managed to catch it yesterday as we were having a break in sunny(?) Donegal last weekend.

The fact that Craig Wright and Greg Berlanti, the men responsible for Brothers and Sisters (which I loved) were behind this show gave me high hopes and I have to say the first episode did not disappoint.

The show opened with idealistic attorney Nick George finding out that his father had died in a plane crash, and then making his way to the funeral. When he arrives he can’t get past the police barriers, and before long, his father’s bosses The Darling family pull up in their fleet of stretch limos. The story emerges that Nick’s father and mothers marriage had broken down years before because of his all consuming job with The Darling family. Nick vows that he will never neglect his daughter in the same way, but ten million dollars is too much to turn down and just days after his fathers funeral, Nick signs up as the family attorney.

There were many comic moments, the tranny hooker who is having an affair with senate hopeful Patrick Darling was just one. It was like watching what I imagine the Hiltons to be like behind closed doors. In fact I would describe this show as having all the emotion and drama of Brothers and Sisters, with all the glitz and glam of Dallas or Dynasty.

If anyone missed the first episode I am fairly sure you can still watch it on 4OD, I would really recommend it. The second installment airs tonight on Channel 4 at 9PM……don’t miss it!
