Divas II On ITV1
Following on from the success of last year’s show, ITV1 brings viewers some of the world’s best female singing artists together for Divas II. Hosted by the glamorous Mylene Klass, Divas II’s amazing line up will see a unique collaboration of the female music scene including Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Pink, Gabriella Cilmi, Dionne Warwick, Sugababes and Anastacia.
The show will be a glitzy and glamorous affair to celebrate all things Diva with performances of some of the stars classic tracks that we all know and love, in addition to some brand new songs. During rehearsals, Myleene said of the diva she was most looking forward to seeing perform: “It’s got to be Dionne Warwick”, adding, “She’s phenomenal”.
Viewers can expect sexy and sassy performances as the confirmed line up opens with the Sugababes’ Girls to an audience clad in a sea of pink and black.
American singer songwriter Anastacia will be performing one of her most famous known hits, Left Outside Alone. Anastacia, who recently fought breast cancer, was asked how it felt to be back performing on a show like this and said it was: “Quite amazing”.
Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi, who will sing her hit Sweet About Me, said: “It’s really cool to be a part of this show with so many great musicians.” Asked how much of a diva she can be, Gabriella added, tongue-in-cheek, that her dressing room was the “size of a tissue box”.
Leona Lewis proves why she is fast becoming one of the world’s most popular female artists by performing a breathtaking cover of Snow Patrol’s Run. Pink performs a feisty So What, while Rihanna brings her unique style and diva sass to sing ‘Disturbia’.
Acclaimed singer and five-time Grammy Award winner Dionne Warwick will perform the timeless classic That’s What Friends Are For, adding a poignant: “If I’m going to be of any assistance of bringing awareness to breast cancer or cancer of any sort that is the importance of my being here.”
Divas II marks the end of Breast Cancer Awareness month with three of the UK’s Breast Cancer charities specially invited to join an audience of fundraisers and campaigners in recognition of those who raise awareness for this exclusive night.
