16 year old New Zealander Lorde is currently in a race with James Arthur to claim the Number 1 spot on the Official Singles Chart with her hit ‘Royals’.
At the mid week point we reported there were about 7,000 copies between the pair and Dizzee Rascal has revealed that he’s a fan of the 16 year old performer.
Lorde, real name Ella Yellich-O’Connor may only be 16 years old but she looks set to score a Number 1 in the UK tomorrow with her single ‘Royals’ which on listening seems to be about the pop stars and their lavish lifestyles that rappers sing about.
Dizzee Rascal, one of the UK’s biggest names has revealed in an interview with the Daily Star that he’s a big fan:
“Lorde is cool. It’s about the words and the beat. It’s good music,”
Dizzee continued: “I like the song. She’s got common sense. She sounds like she’s influenced by the stuff she’s talking about.”
Continuing in the interview he also spoke about Miley Cyrus and said she was “a really clever girl”:
“Both her songs were Number One and now her album and single are Number One. They say it’s because of her video but the songs always come first,” Dizzee Rascal said.
16 year old Lorde however looks set to release her debut LP ‘Pure Heroine’ in the UK this coming Monday (28th of October) and she’s already attracted attention from some of musics biggest names including Jessie J and Katy Perry.
The talented musician has also admitted that she’d love to start writing material for other artists including Rihanna.
