Well, writers at Doctor Who have ruled out any romance between new Time Lord Peter Capaldi and his companion, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Jenna Coleman won’t be getting any action, as her real life partner wants a part on the show!
Coleman, who starred in Emmerdale and Titanic before landing the prestige role of Clara Oswald – companion to Doctor Who, caused a stir when she locked lips with the 11th Time Lord, Matt Smith, almost as soon as she arrived in the Tardis.
Sexual chemistry bubbled away between them as the series’ progressed, but when he regenerated into Capaldi during last year’s Christmas Day Special The Time of the Doctor, we were quickly informed that there would be no chance of romance for the new pairing.
However, Coleman’s real life partner, former Game of Thrones star Richard Madden, has hinted that he might like to join his lady on the hit BBC family sci-fi show!
Discussing the possibility with Zap2It Madden, who has been in a relationship with Coleman since late 2011, explained how he was a life-long fan of the iconic show, adding:
“I mean, I love Doctor Who. I’ve always loved Doctor Who,”
When asked if that meant that he might find his way to making a cameo, or perhaps more, on the show, the actor coyly replied:
“We’ll just see what happens in the future.”
Doctor Who is set to return to our screens later this year, with Capaldi driving the Tardis full time.
Filming for the new series began last week, with early images already proving writers’ theories that Capaldi is set to play a “madder” version of the Time Lord right, with him spotted riding a mechanical horse through the Victorian-ized streets of Cardiff, wearing nothing but a nightgown – Watch a video of it for yourself in the clip below:
