Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Spoilers: John Hurt describes his character as “part of the Doctor” in a “kind of trinity!”
Hollywood film star, John Hurt, has teased Doctor Who fans about his upcoming role in the 50th anniversary special episode, hinting that he plays an alternative form of the Doctor himself.
Ever since the 50th anniversary episode was announced, rumours have been rife about its content. First of all it was said that all 11 Doctor’s would be making guest appearances in the landmark episode, but this was later dismissed, with the only Time Lord’s confirmed as taking part being current Doctor Who Matt Smith, and his direct predecessor, David Tennant.
Now, with the episode being filmed ready for its 3D November broadcast, Harry Potter star Hurt has revealed details of his role to Eastern Daily Press.
Speaking to the publication, the actor commented that the part he plays is: “part of the Doctor” in a “kind of trinity”.
Meanwhile, Doctor Who writer Robert Banks Stewart has hinted that fans should expect a large variety of monsters in the 50th special, which is due to be shown in cinema’s as well on its usual BBC1, and will be offered in 3D to those viewers who have the option.

Guest starring Life’s Too Short star Warwick Davis, former EastEnder Tamzin Outhwaite, Jason Watkins, and Will Merrick, Nightmare In Silver will see current Time Lord Matt Smith and his new companion, Clara Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman) heading for Webley’s World of Wonders, set for a day of theme park fun, but what they actually get is a little bit more scary!
