Doctor Who 50th Anniversary: Documentary series The Doctors Revisited is set to air in the UK on Watch!
As part of this year’s 50th anniversary celebrations, a new BBC America documentary series The Doctors Revisited is set to air in the UK on Watch.
The eleven-part series will dedicate an entire episode to each of the actors (William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith) who have played the iconic Time Lord that is Doctor Who so far.
The BBC America documentary series has already been running an episode a month since January in the US, and is due to hit UK screens in the second week of October according to the Radio Times.
Other celebratory specials to mark the shows landmark 50th birthday include a 75-minute special episode on November 23rd called The Day Of The Doctor which will be shown in 2D & 3D in homes and cinemas around the world simultaneously, featuring the current Time Lord and companion, Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman, as well as their predecessors David Tennant and Billie Piper and a guest appearance from John Hurt as a version of the Doctor, thought by many to be 8.5.
Also a feature length biopic entitled An Adventure In Space And Time is to be shown on BBC2 depicting how the show was first created, starring David Bradley as the very first Doctor William Hartnell, as well as many other greatest moments and show specials all dotted around the same time on various BBC channels.
Doctor Who returns to screens on November 23rd with The Day Of The Doctor, and then again on Christmas Day which will see Matt Smith’s Doctor regenerate in to the 12th Doctor played by Peter Capaldi.
