With the US series 7 leak causing bosses at Doctor Who to urge fans not to lose their heads, it would seem that Matt Smith has lost his hair instead!
The current TimeLord has been pictured on Twitter with all his hair shaved off for his part in the new Ryan Gosling film.
Smith, who is in Detroit this week filming scenes for How To Catch a Monster which is Gosling’s directorial debut, can be seen in the pictures, posted on to the social networking site by Buzz Feed, with the drastic new look, along with a rather menacing look sat chatting with Gosling between takes
The Doctor Who star can also be seen topless in one the films scenes.
How To Catch a Monster has also been written by Gosling, and stars some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Mad men’s Christina Hendricks and even Goslings own girlfriend, Eva Mendes
Smith, who has just been filming the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special with current companion Jenna-Louise Coleman and his predecessor David Tennant, recently explained how his casting for the film came as a bit of a surprise.
Speaking to TotalFilm earlier this year, the actor explained:
“I was in New York and I was about to fly back, and then I got a phone call saying Ryan wanted to meet me and come over,
“So I read his film, and I thought it was brilliant. And then I auditioned and we spent about four hours together doing some stuff, and he filmed it on his iPhone. And that was it. I’m really excited, I think he’s really clever, and I think it’s going to be an exciting project.”
Smith can be seen in this Saturday’s series finale of Doctor Who: The Name of the Doctor at 7pm on BBC1/BBC1 HD, watch a trailer for it in the clip below:
