Doctor Who top dog, Russell Davies, has said that he thinks series three of the show was too dark and he wants to bring more fun back into the show.

He said: “It does get very dark as it progresses, and I think there’s a little element of fun missing.

“I love the final three episodes, but part of me misses a great big Dalek/Cyberman war — the fun of it.”

He said producers planned to make the next series more light-hearted, adding: “More fun — those are my instincts!”
