Doctor Who spoiler: Series finale to feature Statue Of Liberty as a deadly weapon in Amy and Rory’s show exit!
In the build up to the new series of Doctor Who, the Daily Star newspaper has revealed that the explosive finale episode of the new run is due to take place using one of the most famous landmarks in the world as a weapon, the Statue Of Liberty!
According to the publication, the legendary New York statue is to be turned into a deadly Weeping Angel when the series comes to an end this autumn.
The Doctor (Matt Smith) and his two companions, Amy Pond and Rory Williams, who are due to leave the show, will travel to the States to battle a new army of Weeping Angels, and are set to get a massive shock when the 305ft-tall statue turns out to be the biggest soldier of them all!
The Weeping Angels, who were voted the shows scariest monster ever, only come to life when they are not being watched, and if that wasn’t dramatic enough, the historic landmark is to be the setting of what has been described as Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory’s (Arthur Darvill) incredibly emotional exit from the hugely popular BBC sci-fi show.
Show boss Steven Moffat, commented: “There will be a final showdown with the Weeping Angels.
“Not everyone gets out alive. And I mean it this time!”
Speaking to Doctor Who magazine, the Time Lord himself, Matt Smith, commented how the Weeping Angles are his favourite enemy, saying: “They were the first monsters I worked with and I have a soft spot for them.
“Weirdly, because they don’t really speak, there is something even more ruthless about them.”
