With many people chomping at the bit to find out what Saturday’s series seven finale of Doctor Who will bring us (apart from a few lucky American’s who already know due to a shipping error), a report in yesterday’s Daily Star newspaper has emerged suggesting that the third Doctor (played by the late Jon Pertwee) will be making a guest appearance!

The third Doctor, played by Pertwee from 1970-1974, was a suave, dapper, technologically oriented, and authoritative man of action who not only practised Venusian Aikido (or Karate) but enjoyed working on gadgets and riding all manner of vehicles, such as the Whomobile and his pride and joy, the canary-yellow vintage roadster nicknamed “Bessie.”
And it is with “Bessie” that he is said to make a comeback during Saturday night’s much-anticipated series finale.

According to the publication, fans will see a lightening shot of yellow, though to be Bessie as she whizzes past the current Doctor’s (Matt Smith) new companion Clara Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman), as shown in a teaser clip for the episode.

The sighting of this infamous vehicle is set to leave the space and time travelling duo wondering just what it is doing there, and just who is driving it.

But that’s not all we have to look forward to……
