Doctor Who star Matt Smith says series 7 will air on the BBC in August!
It’s been reported today that Doctor Who star Matt Smith has let revealed that the highly anticipated seventh series of the Time Lord’s adventures will debut on the BBC in August!
Speaking to press at San Diego’s Comic-Con yesterday, Matt – who was part of the panel for TV Guide Magazine’s Fan Favourites – also confirmed that the first episode of series seven is entitled, Asylum of the Daleks.
The very first screening of Asylum of the Daleks will take place at the BFI Southbank in London on August 14th, and it’ll also be shown at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, which runs from August 23 to August 25.
And if it follows suit from last year, when series six opener Let’s Kill Hitler was screened at the Festival, then Asylum of the Daleks should air on the BBC the following day…
And there’s a treat in store for those lucky enough to be at Comic-Con this weekend because today, they’re going to see new footage from series seven, and get to take part in a Q&A with Matt and by departing actors Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan, who of course play the roles of Rory and Amy.
It hasn’t been revealed whether new Doctor Who sidekick Jenna Louise-Coleman, whose character we’ll meet during the show’s Christmas special this year – will be attending Comic-Con.
Also joining the Q&A session will be Doctor Who’s writers and producers including Caroline Skinner and of course, Steven Moffat.
