Doctor Who: Thelma Barlow To Star As Lady Thaw
You may think your eyes are deceiving you on Saturday night, but rest assured, yes that is Mavis from Coronation Street who has popped up on Doctor Who.
Thelma almost turned down the role in the BBC hit Sci Fi series. She told The Daily Mail:
“When my friends said that a part in Doctor Who would be good on my CV, I thought, “What do I need a CV for now at my time of life?”
“But then I realised that Lady Thaw is probably the nearest I could get to Lady Macbeth, whom I’ve always wanted to play.”
She added:
“And my grandchildren would never forgive me if I don’t do this. It’s good cred for them at school.”
