The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Donald Sutherland has joined the cast of CBS medical drama The Eastmans. You wouldn’t imagine that TV really needs another show set in a hospital, after all we really should be all doctored out with ER, House, Greys Anatomy and we just heard that Alex O’Loughlin has signed for another new medical drama Three Rivers.

The Eastmans revolves around a family of dysfunctional doctors and Sutherland will play the head of the family, a wealthy and prestigious cardiologist. The role is said to be very similar to his role of Tripp Darling on ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money.

I still can’t believe that Dirty Sexy Money is no more and because I believe that the presence of Donald Sutherland really made that show, I do have high hopes for this new drama on the horizon.
